The 8th Berlin Biennale has been confirmed to take place between May 29 and August 3, 2014 at different venues in Berlin.
Juan A. Gaitán, curator of the 8th Berlin Biennale, has invited Tarek Atoui, Natasha Ginwala, Mariana Munguía, Olaf Nicolai, and Danh Vo to collaborate with him as his artistic team.
Since its inception in 1998, the Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art has become one of the most important events of contemporary art worldwide. It explores artistic developments and visions from within the art scene of Berlin, where it also presents them.
The German capital is continuously under change thus remaining fragmented, diverse and contradictory. It is this particular mixture of high contrasts and a relaxed manner defining Berlin side by side that does not only attract international artists, many of whom choose Berlin as their base and place for production.
The Berlin Biennale is organized by KW Institute for Contemporary Art and funded by the Kulturstiftung des Bundes (German Federal Cultural Foundation).
