The Fundación María José Jove announces the 8th Marta García Fajardo International Art Award 2021, in homage to the recently deceased Marta García-Fajardo who was director of the Colección de Arte Fundación María José Jove and promoter of the award. The eighth edition of the international biennial award is endowed with 12,000 euros for the winner, whose work will become part of the María José Jove Foundation Art Collection. The entity will also publish a monograph that will analyze the trajectory and work of the winner.
The award is designed for artists up to 40 years of age of any nationality and place of residence. Each artist will have total freedom in terms of themes and presentation disciplines. It will be especially valued among the applicants, their artistic career, the proposed socio-cultural discourse and their international projection. Those interested have until April 12 to present their works online. Each participant may present from one to two works; the terms are detailed at www.fundacionmariajosejove.org. The decision will be made public on June 3, 2021.
The jury for the 8th Marta García Fajardo International Art Award 2021 is made up of the president of the María José Jove Foundation, Felipa Jove; Manuel Borja-Villel, director of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid; Catalina Lozano, curator and independent researcher based in Mexico City and director of Programs in Latin America at KADIST; Manuel Segade, curator, researcher and writer, director of CA2M (Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo) in Móstoles, and Susana González, director of the Colección FMJJ, curator and cultural manager.
