Fundación Botín Announces Call for 8 International Grants in Visual Arts and 2 in Curatorial Studies

The Fundación Botin launches the 24rd edition of its International Visual Arts Grants and the 12th call of its Curatorship of Exhibitions and Museum Management Grants. The application deadlines are May 6 and May 13, respectively. The Fundación Botín offers artists of any nationality the opportunity to compete for one of eight grants available, each worth 23,000 euros and with a duration of nine months. Two of the eight grants are offered to Spanish nationals under the age of 30 and will cover traveling expenses to another country, as well as their studies or residencies while they continue to develop their work. Candidates must complete the application form online at: bit.ly/becasartesplasticas and submit all other paperwork required no later than May 6, 2016. On July 4 the winners will be announced online at the same webpage. Likewise, the Fundación Botín announces the call for two grants to study abroad a specialization in Curatorship of Exhibitions and Museum Management. Each of these supports will consist of a purse of 18,000 euros and an additional amount of 12,000 euros to help pay admission fees at the chosen academic institution. In this instance, candidates must exclusively apply online at: bit.ly/becascomisariado, no later than Friday May 13, 2016. The grants are for Spanish citizens between the ages of 22 and 40 who have completed undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate degrees in Fine Arts, Art History, Philosophy and Aesthetics, Literature, Humanities or Art Criticism; or to art professionals who, without the aforementioned requirements, can demonstrate their knowledge and experience in any of those fields. Likewise, the academic institution chosen by the candidate must be associated with contemporary art (from the vanguards to today).
