Bienal das Amazônias opens its second edition: Verde-Distância

From August 29 to November 30, 2025, the city of Belém will host the second edition of the Bienal das Amazônias, titled Verde-Distância. The artistic event brings together works by over 80 artists and collectives from various Pan-Amazonian and Caribbean regions, exploring connections across territories, times, and memories.

Inspired by the writings of Pará-born author Benedicto Monteiro, this edition is shaped around the concept of a “green distance” — not as separation, but as a form of relationship. Based on this idea, the biennial is structured around three central notions: dreams, memory, and accent, understood as embodied, sensory, and sonic forms of knowledge.

The curatorial vision, led by Manuela Moscoso, aims to create a space for dialogue and dissent, addressing themes such as the traces of extractivism, disrupted histories, and ways of life that persist and resist.

A public program will take place during the first three days, offering open activities.
