The 14th Mercosur Biennial announces new dates

Following the natural disasters experienced in Porto Alegre, the 14th Mercosur Biennial has announced its new dates, now scheduled to take place from March 27 to June 1, 2025. This decision was made after adjustments to the schedule due to recent climate disasters that severely affected southern Brazil.
Under the theme "Estalo" (Crack), the Biennial will not be limited to a single venue but will extend across multiple locations in the city of Porto Alegre. This approach aims to reach a more diverse audience, both locally and internationally, exploring how different movements can trigger transformations of varying magnitudes, whether through the body, nature, or different media.
Carmen Ferrão, president of the Biennial's foundation, emphasized the event's significance as an integral part of the reconstruction of the affected artistic sector. In addition to the main exhibition, the Mercosur Biennial will feature two complementary initiatives: "Doors to Art," in collaboration with local galleries, and "Arte no Prato" (Art on the Plate), integrating and energizing the region's gastronomic sector. Both events are scheduled to coincide with the main exhibition, curated by Raphael Fonseca.
The complete list of participating artists and exhibition spaces will be announced in November.
