Kate Tarratt Cross was born in Johannesburg, South of Africa, on April 1st 1973. She moved to England with her parents in 1985. Since a very young age she showed a big interest in art. In 1989 she went back to Africa to study at the school of art in Johannesburg. Her artwork was mostly influenced by her childhood dreams, intense variations of fascinations, love, photography and the traveling which eventually brought her to Haiti in 1993. In 1995 she went back to England to study art. Kate graduated from the Bath Spa College with high honors of "Beaux-Arts" in the year 2000.
