Julia Converti

Julia Converti was recently appointed General Manager of the ArteBa Foundation. Converti has been linked to the art fair since the age of 19, starting as a college intern.

Converti took on her new position as General Manager in late March. Her work focuses mainly in the coordination and leadership of an 8-person work team. This is a young team whose members are no older than 35 and have an optimistic view of great changes.

About the new challenges she faces, Converti has expressed her intention of focusing on collectors, adding an international curator program to the fair, and creating new committees, with the idea of attracting new personnel to greater involvement with ArteBa.

Julia Converti was born in Buenos Aires in 1980. She studied Visual Arts at the IUNA (Instituto Universitario Nacional del Arte) and Combined Arts at the UBA (Universidad de Buenos Aires). She participated in the 2002 edition of Estudio Abierto, a cultural event organized by the Buenos Aires City Government, and in the management and production of independent events such as the arrival in Buenos Aires of photographer Spencer Tunick for his famous shot of 9 de Julio Avenue.

Converti has worked for the ArteBa Foundation since 2001. Among other positions, she has been the institution's project leader and its auditorium's programming coordinator. Among the various activities developed by the Foundation in recent years, she has been in charge of implementing its institutional support to Argentina's delegations to the Venice Biennale, editions 51 and 52; the show beginning with a Bang! at the Americas Society in New York City; and the project Límite sud / South Limit, organized by the Foundation.
