1971 | He was born in Montevideo where he lives and works.
¿I get involved in the process. If I feel there is a whirl and everything goes smoothly, then I realize I´m making it. I ´m interested in the action.¿
Javier Abdala´s work conveys the energy with which it was created. Bird-human-aviator beings of a high expressive value, disclosed from very different perspectives. The attraction and originality of his works impact us, but the topic is not what really matters to him. ¿When I¿m alone in my workshop I begin by moving my hands, then I rotate a piece, I stop and generate another image. As in films¿ I watch films to make sculptures.¿
He is interested in action and in paying attention to "innumerable things that come to your mind."
The process goes on with interventions that contribute to the work but never invade it. Some color or perhaps a trick. ¿¿tricks I prefer no to disclose because they were not premeditated.¿
