The Cuenca Biennial recently announced the selection of the two curators that will form the curatorial team for its 12th edition, to be held in early 2014.
Jacopo Crivelli Visconti, an Italian curator and writer currently living in São Paulo, was responsible for the Brazilian pavilion at the 52nd Venice Biennale (2007), while working as a curator for the São Paulo Biennale Foundation. Among his most recent projects as an independent curator are: member of the selection committee, Pinchuk Art Prize, 2012; curator of project spaces, PINTA Air Fair (NYC, 2012); Sismografo, Palacio das Artes, Belo Horizonte, Brazil (2011); Ponto de Equilibrio, Tomie Othake Institute, São Paulo, Brazil (2012); project spaces at ARCO art fair, Madrid, Spain (2009-2010), among others.
Manuela Moscoso is an independent curator living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She holds a Master's Degree from the Curatorial Studies Program at Bard College, New York, and graduated in fine arts from Central Saint Martins University's School of Design, in London. Her work focuses especially on generating research, new gatherings, and exhibitions. Over the years, be it in the organization of exhibitions, the launching of digital platforms, or artist-in-residence programs, her efforts have been based on teamwork. Her recent projects are: co-curator of the exhibition FIcisismos, Universidad Di Tella, Buenos Aires; curator, Quarter System, Universidad de Navarra; Queens Biennial NYC; Resonance, Goethe Institute, NYC; Resonance and Repetition, Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts (2012, NYC), among others.
