The Museum of the University of Alicante calls for visual artists of any nationality to present projects, individually or collectively, for its IV Mulier Mulieris Call. The theme of the competition is women from a personal or global perspective. The IV Mulier Mulieris Call is organized within the framework of the International Women¿s Day celebrations. One year older, this competition is conceived as a platform for reflection and dialogue associated with women. Its goal is to facilitate a space for artistic creation linked with themes such as gender identity, discrimination, equality, autonomy, achievements attained and future challenges. This call is the consequence of a commitment to plurality; it is open to artists of both genders who question the status of women through utilization of any expressive medium that results in a visual creation (painting, photography, video, sculpture, mixed media, etc.). The theme must be approached from a personal or global perspective. Works will be received from November 16 to December 15, 2009.
