Guest in Venice Fall into Grand Canal

Guest on their way to a cocktail to celebrate the opening of the exhibition "Portable Classic" organized by the Fondazione Prada fell into the cold water of the Great Canal in the city of Venice. The impasse occurred when the connection between the pier and the floating platform to access the boat that was taking them to the event detached. According to several sources the platform collapsed and sank because of the excessive weight caused by overcrowding. Although no one was hurt, the partygoers were taken to a nearby hotel. Despite the accident, the event was not cancelled and was attended by 700 guests, among them artist Anish Kapoor and the director of the Tate Modern, Chris Dercon.
