Intersecting Modernities: Latin American Art from the Brillembourg Capriles Collection

The Musuem of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) is presenting through September 2, 2013, the exhibition Intersecting Modernities: Latin American Art from the Brillembourg Capriles Collection.

This exhibition features more than 100 works by renowned Latin American artists like Wifredo Lam, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Antonio Seguí, Roberto Matta, Diego Rivera, and Joaquín Torres-García, among others, all among the holdings in the Brillembourg Capriles collection. The show includes works by a number of artists who were key to movements of the European avant-garde.

The artworks are exhibited to the public for the first time, after a long-term loan made to the museum. The collection is the property of Tanya Capriles de Brillembourg, a Venezuelan collector resident in the United States.
