III Certamen Coll Alas de Artes Plásticas (3rd Coll Alas Fine Arts Competition)

On the occasion of the fifth centennial of Francisco de Borja¿s birth ¿ and with the objective of promoting the work by new creators, thus contributing to the presence of contemporary art in the Centennial events ¿ the Municipal Government of Gandía announces the 3rd Coll Alas Fine Arts Competition. This call is open to national and international artists of legal age who wish to participate with their individual or collective works. Each participant may present no more than two original and never-before- exhibited artworks and must follow the following guidelines: Painting: can be works created in any style, technique, and on any support, each not exceeding 150 cm on each side. Sculpture: works created with any organic or inorganic materials. They must not exceed 150 cm in any of their dimensions. Photography: may be analog or digital and black-and-white or color photographs, or works completely created on a computer. The works must not exceed 150 cm on each side. The jury panel with select up to 25 works from among the works submitted for the competition that comply with all the of prerequisites included in the rules of the competition. The chosen works will be exhibited at the Coll Alas exhibiting space from August 13 to September 18, 2010. A catalog of the selected works will be published with the purpose of maximizing the event¿s exposure. The authors of the works must unconditionally wave their right to these to the Municipal Government of Gandía so they can be reproduced for the catalog and through other means in order to promote the event and the exhibition. The Municipal Government of Gandía will allocate up to 25,000.00 Euros for purchasing these works that ¿ because of their quality ¿ the jury considers worthy of belonging to the artistic heritage of the municipality. The purchase price is that which the artist establishes on submitting the work in the competition. The works will be received from May 1 through 31, 2010.
