Second Edition of the Fotocanal Competition. Photography Book 2017

The Autonomous Community of Madrid and Ediciones Anómalas announced call for participation in the Second Edition of the Fotocanal Competition. Photography Book 2017. The award consists of the edition, publication, and distribution of a book jointly published by the Autonomous Community of Madrid and Ediciones Anómalas. Rules for participation in the call: 1. The call is open to photographers of any nationality, place of residence, or age. 2. Participants may choose any theme. The work must be unpublished, having never been included in a book format, and the photographer must be the sole owner of the copyright of the work. 3. Participants must submit a dossier with the following: •A PDF document with a brief text describing the project and a CV of the photographer in Spanish or English. •A series of 30 to 60 jpeg photographs, 1500 x 2000 pixels approx. and 72 dpi. 4. Physical mockups will not be accepted. Participants that already have finished mockups may send the PDF to the same address. Finished mockups and photographic series will be absolutely given the same consideration. 5. If selected, participants must submit all the images in TIFF format, each with a minimum width of 30 cm and 300 dpi. 6. Proposals that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted. 7. The jury will select the winning proposal, taking into account the quality of the project and its narrative potential. The jury panel will be formed by Jaime de los Santos, director of the Office of Culture and Tourism of the Autonomous Community of Madrid; María Pardo-Álvarez, director of Cultural Promotion of the Autonomous Community of Madrid; Antonio J. Sánchez-Luengo, deputy director of Fine Arts of the Autonomous Community of Madrid; Javier Martín-Jiménez, art advisor of the Autonomous Community of Madrid; Jessica Murray, photographer and curator; Paco Gómez, photographer; Andrea Coppetti, editor and founder of the Tipi Bookshop; and Sema D´Acosta, curator. 8. The co-editors will sign a publishing contract with the selected photographer which will provide for a royalty payment. 9. The co-editors will put their knowledge and skills at the service of the publication. In this manner, they will be responsible for the edition, design, prepress, printing, distribution and promotion of the book through all of their national and international channels.
