The Fundición Capa starts calling the second edition of the International Sculpture Award. Through a sculptural project in any of the chosen scales, the award’s purpose is to bring sculpture closer to society, integrating it as part of urban space, land art, interior design, and collecting.
The award calls for students, architects, sculptors, designers, visual artists, and other similar knowledge areas. And, observing today’s society, the people with their thinking are changing the concept of art and, therefore, the living space.
The Fundición Capa, with the union of the R + D + ART philosophy, establishes the objective of this edition to bring innovation and new creative techniques. To established sculptors and those who start this sculpture adventure by giving them a new way of creation with the technology that the Fundición Capa can contribute in the 21st century.
The following aspects will be considered of special interest: Research, use of material, creativity, classical techniques, and technology.
The Fundición Capa will award three prizes:
• First prize: a reproduction of the work, the maximum dimension of 1.20 meters, valued at 7000 euros.
• Second prize: a reproduction of the work, maximum dimension 1.00 meter, valued at 5000 euros.
• Third prize: a reproduction of the work, maximum dimension 0.90 meters, valued at 3,000 euros.
• Special prize: a reproduction of the work, made with Cosentino materials, maximum dimension 0.90 meters, valued at 3,000 euros.
The three winners will also receive a trophy awarded by the Fundición Capa.
The artist will have one month to deliver the final sketch of his/her work to the Fundición Capa. The maximum term of execution of the work will be eight months.
The jury reserves the right to make a maximum of three special mentions.
The winners and those who are awarded a special mention will receive an accrediting diploma, which will specify the result of their participation in the award.
The jury will be made up of prestigious professionals chosen by the Fundición Capa, and a representative of this institution. In the first call, 175 works were presented, and the winner was “Biforma Tetramorfa” by Diego Canogar.
