ARCOmadrid 2013 and AD (Architectural Digest España) announce the 2nd Contest of Ideas for the design of the ARCOmadrid 2013 VIP room.
Given the enthusiastic reception that met the contest in the previous edition, ARCOmadrid and AD have made public their intention of continuing it for the next one, to be held February 13th through 17th, 2013.
The organization states that the goal of the proposal must be the achievement of "… an ephemeral space that combines innovation, high quality, and a contemporary spirit with the function of a rest-and-meeting area during visits to the Salon…"
The call is open to artists, architects, decorators, designers, and other professionals. The deadline for submissions is October 19th, 2012.
The spatial arrangement must include information counters and coat check; a restaurant for 150 diners; a 100-person bar; a lounge area with capacity for 120 people; and 4 areas for he sponsors of ARCOmadrid. Additionally, it must conform to the projects maximum budget: 40,000 Euros.
Submissions must be accompanied by a description with a maximum length of 10 pages, plans, photographs, and 3D images, as well as execution budgets, in a closed envelope labeled "CONCUSO DE IDEAS AD (Architectural Digest España) / ARCOmadrid." The award will comprise 4,000 Euros for the redesign and supervision of the project.
