One Shot Hotels announce the photography contest "Urban Routes." The call is open to any person, from any nationality and country or residence that is over the age of 18.
The photographic proposals must center on the urban space as an abstract concept. The images may reflect any interior or exterior spaces, details, people, or a combination of visions.
Participants may submit up to three original photos never before published or used for other competitions. Photographs whose intellectual property rights do not belong in their entirety, without exceptions, to the participant submitting them will not be accepted. Participants are responsible for getting the authorization of all the individuals that appear in their photographs.
Both Black and White and color photographs are accepted. Likewise, participants can frame their works using any format and the may also use software to edit and process their images. All photographs must be properly titled and include the author's personal information—name, last names, Government issued ID, telephone number and email address. Candidates may also include a description of the equipment and technique used to take or treat the photos, with the goal of better understanding and evaluating the results.
The photographs must be emailed to concursos@oneshothotels.com using a single PDF document that includes all of the detailed information. This PDF cannot exceed 1 megabyte in size. Once the three winners and the 30 photographs with honorable mentions have been selected, the organizers from One Shot Hotels will contact all the winning artists so they can make their images available in the resolution and size necessaries for large scale reproductions—approximately 150 x 150 cm, or 59.00 x 59.00 in—paid for by One Shot Hotels. The deadline to submit all proposals is October 20, 2013, before 10 pm. Works presented after this specified date and time will not be accepted. Members of the jury or any other individuals involved in the organization of the competition are not allowed to participate.
For the duration of the competition, from the day it opens to its last day, the organizers will randomly publish on the One Shot Hotels' Facebook page the photographs submitted for the "Urban Routes" 2nd Photography Contest.
The winning photographs awards are as follows: the First Prize will receive 3,000.00 euros; the Second Prize will receive 600 euros plus a one night free stay in the hotel; and the Third Prize will receive 400 euros plus a one night free stay in the hotel. Additionally, twenty-seven honorable mentions will be awarded, each accompanied by a one night free stay in the hotel, and a Special Mention from the Public that will consist of two additional nights in the hotel.
One Shot Hotels will present the awards to the selected authors during the inauguration celebrations of the Hotel One Shot Recoletos 04 that is scheduled for the month of December in the city of Madrid.
