In this competition participants may be Spanish or foreign artists who work in the modality of painting, including those new particularities that explore the limits of the pictorial, even when they include other media and supports. This first prize will win the sum of ¿60,000. The jury for this contest will be made up of international experts such as the recognized art critic and editor from London, Barry Schwabsky, writer of Vitamine P, among other titles; Karen Wright, editor of the prestigious British magazine Modern PaintersI; and Javier Panera, director of Domus Artium (DA2) of Salamanca. The works will be of free theme and technique. Each artist can compete with one or several works that, necessarily, have not been presented to another competition. The maximum dimensions of the works cannot exceed 250 x 350 cm. The artists should send a CD with the work(s) and their CV to Espai D¿Art Contemporani (EACC), situated in the Calle Prim de Castellón during the agreed period of July 1st to September 15th 2005, inclusive. The Castellón Delegation will organize an exposition with the works that the jury selects, in the Espai D¿Art Contemporani de Castellón (EACC). This competition, which is taking place for the second consecutive year, was won in its first year the Spanish artist who now lives in Berlin, Pablo Alonso, who won with the piece ¿Orgaz¿ (2002), acrylic and felt pen on canvas, 200x280cm.
