1st Sculpture Photography International Competition

Through its Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports and the Museo Nacional de Escultura, the Government of Spain is launching the 1st Sculpture Photography International Competition.

The call for submissions is open to all adults, regardless of place of residence or nationality.

Submitted photographs must comply with the topic in any of the following aspects: classical and modern sculptures in museums or artists' studios; fountains and garden statues; sculpture in churches and civil monuments; sculptures integrated into architecture; urban statuary; and all formats, modes or contexts in which sculpture can be the subject of photography.

Submissions must be original, unpublished work not participating in any other competition. Technique is free. Send a maximum of 3 photographs in digital format (TIFF), with a maximum resolution of 300 dpi, in a file of up to 2MB.

Images must be sent to concursoescultura@mecd.es, along with the following documents: entry form (downloadable from web page) and CV (up to 500 words) describing the artist's professional career in its most relevant details. Optional: an explanatory description of the work.

The deadline for submissions is October 31st, 2012. The works selected by the jury must be sent physically to: Museo Nacional de Escultura C/ Cadenas de San Gregorio 1 y 2, 47011, Valladolid, Spain.

The First Prize winner will receive 1,500 Euros; second prize is 1,000 Euros.
