Pinacoteca appoints Horrana de Kassia Santoz as Curator

The Pinacoteca de São Paulo, and the Ivani and Jorge Yunes Collection (CIJY) announced the recent appointment of Horrana Santoz to the position of Curator Ivani and Jorge Yunes Transdisciplinary Research and Action. The program is unprecedented in the museum in partnership with the private collection, which will finance the salary and all charges of the new employee, in addition to an annual budget for the programming to be developed.
Horrana de Kássia Santoz is a graduate in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (2011). Since 2007, she has been involved in the development of new educational practices in museums, cultural spaces, as art-educator, mediator, artistic-pedagogical supervisor, researcher and curatorial assistant. In recent years, Horrana has been part of the MASP mediation and public programs nucleus.
“Horrana arrives with a fresh eye to expand the public activities of the Pinacoteca; research and promote actions in dialogue with the art collections of the museum and the Yunes family and collaborate directly with the Pinacoteca team of curators, one of the most competent in Brazil,” says Jochen Volz, general director of the São Paulo Pinacoteca. And he concludes,
The Ivani and Jorge Yunes Collection started in the mid-1970s, the art collection was being built without a curatorial concern, but from the couple's passionate look for art, beauty and culture. It includes about 90,000 items, including paintings, sculptures, silverware, religious art, historical documents, ethno-historical artifacts and collections of curiosities.
In its collection from the history of Brazilian art from the 18th century to modern, international artists and iconic pieces of the history of universal art.
