The October 30th, photographer Spencer Tunick created in Mexico his "Sendero de los Redimidos" a tribute to the Day of the Dead, as part of the third edition of the La Calaca Festival. On this occasion, the artist will use hundreds of cempasúchil flowers—the Mexican marigold, known as the "flower of the dead"—to depict nude female figures in the city of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. This is not the first time that Tunick works in Mexico. In 2007, nearly 19,000 people took their clothes off in Mexico City's central square for one of his projects. La Calaca is a four-day arts festival integrated into the Day of the Dead celebrations in Mexico.
