Graciela Sacco"Nothing is Where We Think It Is..."

From July 9 to October 5 of 2015, the Museo de Arte del Banco de la República presents " Nothing is Where We Think It Is...," a retrospective of artist Graciela Sacco curated by researcher Diana B. Wechsler. The exhibition reviews Sacco's artistic trajectory while it also takes a fresh look at her works, proposing new readings through a mounting specially conceived for Bogota. Poetic and universal, Graciela Sacco's work speaks of transitions, migration, exile and social conflicts; in other words, it addresses the daily battles waged by the common folk to find his/her place in the world. Sacco, heiress of Argentina's conceptualist art movements, has made light and shadow her raw material through the development of several photosensitive printing techniques that have allowed her to render images on unusual supports that range from walls and wood to comets and spoons. On Thursday July 9 at 4:30 pm, before the opening, Graciela Sacco and Diana B. Wechsler will offer an inaugural conference about the exhibition, free of charge. The conference will center on a review of Sacco's career and on her personal postulates about art.
