Graciela Sacco

The Espacio Conexiones of the Center for Contemporary Expressions (CEC, its Spanish acronym) will present until April 15 the installation exhibition entitled Permissible Tension, by Graciela Sacco. The work was specially created for the Parque de la Memoria of the city of Buenos Aires.

The exhibition is organized around the concept of permissible tension, a term used in physics that the artist adopts here to reflect on social and political issues. Just as its title suggests, the exhibition proposes a reflection on limitations, on the maximum bearing pressure that can be sustained—or in this case articulated—before a breaking point or explosion.

Consisting of two large-scale installations and an urban interference, the exhibition proposes a reflection on violence, its representations, perceptions and relationships with memory and the city.

Graciela Sacco was born in Rosario, Argentina, in 1956. She completed a degree in Visual Arts from the Universidad Nacional in Rosario and has represented her country in the most important biennials, including the São Paulo Art Biennial, the Venice Biennale, the Shanghai Biennale, the Havana Biennial, and the Mercosur Biennial, among others. She has also participated in many international art fairs like arteBA, Pinta, ARCO, Art Basel Miami, and Scope.
