Glenda León. Cosmic Trace
The OK Linz is hosting the first major retrospective and solo exhibition of Cuban artist Glenda León's work in the German-speaking area. Genoveva Rückert is the show curator, and it will be on view until March 2, 2025.
Glenda León creates art in photography, sculpture/object, video, installation, and drawing. Her works perpetually evoke human existence, its hopes and fears, excesses and emptiness, insecurity and transcendence, whether they are created with hair, flowers, cassettes or records, text or sound.
The gaps between the visible and the unseen, between sound and quiet, and between the transient and the permanent are all of interest to the artist.
Glenda León's art is a constant challenge to our perception of the world. Her works delve into the divine aspects of human nature, make natural laws tangible, and advocate for the acts of listening and resting. Her choice of processes is evident in her use of natural and artificial materials, and her rejection of anything superfluous.
