Galería El Museo

El Museo gallery celebrates its 25th anniversary with the opening of its new Bogotá location and with La suerte del color, a retrospective exhibition with paintings, sculptures, and installations created by Colombian artist Nadín Ospina during his 33-year career, which will remain open to the public through November 26th.

The renowned gallery's new site in Calle 81 in Bogotá is characterized by its design, space, and light. "El Museo's new facilities welcome all persons interested in modern and contemporary art, without necessarily being specialists or collectors", says Luis Fernando Pradilla, the gallery's founder.

Galería El Museo first opened its doors in late 1987 with an exhibition of works by Francis Bacon, Fernando Botero, and Picasso. It came into existence as a gambit in favor of the promotion and support of Colombian art, little known internationally at the time, in the 2,500-m2 building it occupied for 10 years. Later, the gallery remained for 15 years in a new space where the founding proposal was carried forward and where "Espacio2", an space for proposals by emerging artists, was born.
