Fundación Telefónica Documenta

Telefónica Foundation announces its online competition Fundación Telefónica Documenta..

Three prizes will be awarded to the participating works that best articulate the direction of a documentary film. The competition is open to artists of any nationality and place of residence.

The three winners will direct a Latin America-based documentary about child labor in general or in connection to some of the activities that the Foundation has engaged in the region.

Entries can be presented between Monday, February 11th and Thursday, March 21st, 2013, at 12 noon. Candidates must submit a 10-minute documentary project about the eradication of child labor and a short documentary feature they have previously directed, as a sample of their style.

Entries must include the following information:

- Country and project, and justification for this choice. This section can be up to two pages long, single line.

- Concept: basic idea to be developed, style and tone of the narrative, referent.

- Aesthetic and artistic line of the documentary.

- Production and shooting proposal. Definition of technical needs (attach a brief CV of any team members already identified) and materials (cameras, optics, supports, lighting, etc.)

- Shooting and editing schedule, defining how the 5 weeks allotted to the director in April and May of 2013 will be distributed.

- Budget justification (up to €6,000).

The jury for Fundación Telefónica Documenta is presided by filmmaker Isali Lacuesta, who will work on the final selection of the projects along with a committee.
