Twenty years after its founding, The Museum of Latin American Art (MALBA) reforms its statutes and appoint Teresa A.L. Bulgheroni as the new President of the Board of Directors, the Museum’s main governing body.
“Since MALBA’s early years, we have promoted community participation in the Museum, to strengthen its position as a public project. The appointment of Teresa Bulgheroni - an enthusiastic collaborator for years and with vast experience in the management of civil society organizations - marks a milestone in the Museum's process to become a “private” institution. As a single-family primarily managed it, to an entirely public institution,” highlights the founder Eduardo F. Costantini.
Teresa Aguirre Lanari de Bulgheroni is an enthusiastic promoter of art and a cultural manager. She has more than thirty years of experience organizing and promoting artistic projects in Argentina and the world and collaborating with central institutions of the national and international cultural scene around the visual arts and music. She served as President of the Fundación Teatro Colón (2002-2006), was a member of the executive committee of the Fundación Espigas (2002-2014), of the International Committee of the arteBA Fundación (since 2011), and since 2017 is a member of the Advisory Committee from MALBA. She participated as a member of different boards of directors and international committees of museums such as The Metropolitan Opera House (NY, 2003-2015) and El Museo del Barrio (NY, 2010-2014), among others. As a manager, she organized the Russian Vanguard exhibitions (Centro Cultural Recoleta, 2001), Icons in the Moscow Kremlin Historical Museum (CCR, 2000), Silver from the Argentine Museums (Kremlin Armory Museum, Moscow, 1998). In 2004 she received the order of “Officier des Arts et des Lettres” awarded by the Ministry of Culture and Communications of the Republic of France for her work in disseminating French culture.
Eduardo F. Costantini, founder of the Museum, will continue in the role of Honorary President, custodian of its mission and strategic guidelines.
