The Iberê Camargo Foundation launched its digital archive on September 26th, allowing viewers to explore in detail the life and oeuvre of Iberê Camargo, one of the most important figures in the history of Brazilian art. Offering students, researchers, professors, and the community at large ample access to works, photographs, and documents pertaining to Iberê Camargo, the archive can be accessed at
www.iberecamargo.org.br/acervodigital. The archive features more than 4,000 artworks and hundreds of documents, all in digitalized form; the documents include catalogs, newspapers, magazine cutouts, correspondence, notebooks, and photographs gathered by Camargo's wife, Maria Coussirat Camargo. Three thousand of the four thousand works are presented in high definition, and they include technical and historical data, as well as related information, all comprising a never before seen repertoire. Financed through the Pro-Cultura RS LIC, Law 13.490/10, and sponsored by Petrobras and Gerdau, the project promotes the advanced and detailed study of the Iberê Camargo Foundation's artistic and documentary holdings.
