The Guggenheim Museum Receives Grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation

Richard Armstrong has announced that the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation has received a 1.23 million dollar grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The grant will permit the launching of a three-year project to perform a thorough evaluation of the current state of the works of the Panza Collection, with the objective of improving its conservation. The coffers of the Panza Collection, which are part of the Guggenheim in New York, include minimalist, post-minimalist, and conceptual works from the Sixties and Seventies. Among the artists represented in this collection are four of the most important U.S. masters: Dan Flavin; Bruce Nauman; Donald Judd, and Lawrence Weiner.
