Frieze Artists Award 2014

The Frieze Artist Award is a new initiative by Frieze Projects that offers the opportunity to both UK and international artists to present their work at the Frieze London Art Fair. The Award is open to young to mid-career artists, between the ages of 25 to 40.
Artists are invited to propose a new site-specific project to be realized at Frieze London 2014 and produced under the auspices of Frieze Projects. The Frieze Artist Award includes:

• A Production budget up to 10,000.00 pounds.
• A Research and Development (R&D) budget of up to 5,000.00 pounds.
• An Artist's Fee of £2,000
• Per diems and travel expenses

The Award is for site-specific work, with an inclination towards performance and installation. The proposals should respond to the experience and duration of the London fair in a thought-provoking manner. Candidates will be evaluated according to the innovative nature of their proposal and its suitability to be executed at Frieze London. Projects will be rejected if they have been presented anywhere else in 2013, or if they are included in an exhibition during 2014.
The Frieze Artist Award belongs to a distinguished history of artist awards presented at Frieze Art Fair, which include the Emdash Award (2011-2013) and Cartier Award (2006-2010). This first edition of the Frieze Artist Award coincides with the launch of Live, a new section of the London fair dedicated to performative or interactive works.
Participation in The Frieze Artist Award is available through an open call and the winner will be selected by an international panel formed by artists and curators. The deadline to submit all applications is March 10, 2014. The winner of the Award will be announced in May 2014.
