The Museu da Cidade in Lisbon presents through January 29, 2012 the exhibition entitled Frida Kahlo - Her Photographs. The exhibition includes 257 never- before-shown photographs that belonged to Kahlo. Most of the photographs are by unknown authors and are divided into six thematic centers: Her Parents (Guillermo and Matilde), La Casa Azul (The Blue House), The Battered Body, Frida¿s Lovers, Photography, and The Political Struggle. Curated by Historian Pablo Ortiz-Monasterio, Frida Kahlo ¿ Her Photographs reflects several social, sentimental and political realms in which "captured" moments with the artists are evidenced and graphically reconstructed; these convey Kahlo's admiration toward Diego Rivera, the Mexican Revolution, communism, and the health-related suffering she had to endure from her own point of view. The exhibition is promoted by Casa de América Latina and Casa Azul-Museo Frida Kahlo.
