The Ministry of Culture and the Museo Nacional of Colombia are offering local and foreign visual artists the possibility to create an artistic intervention in FRAGMENTOS, Espacio de Arte y Memoria, a cultural space dedicated to the armed conflict, to honoring the victims, and to the construction of peace.
This competition will award a prize of up to one hundred and sixty million pesos (about 46,332.16 US dollars) for the production of each selected project, which includes all due discounts, deductions, and taxes. The insurance of the works will be covered by the Ministry of Culture.
The following artists may apply:
● Colombian or foreign visual artists who have a minimum of ten years of continuous artistic career at a professional level, backed up by solo and group exhibitions, as well as catalogues, art books or other types of artistic publications.
● Groups made up of Colombian or foreign visual artists, in which at least 50% of the members have a minimum of ten years of continuous artistic career at a professional level, backed up by solo and group exhibitions, as well as catalogues, art books or other types of artistic publications.
Timeline
Closing date: 15 November 2019
Publication of results: 20 November 2019
Exhibition's duration: A minimum of three and a maximum of five months, during the second semester of 2020. (To be arranged with FRAGMENTOS, Espacio de Arte y Memoria)
