In the context of the 7th International Encounter of Photography that will take place from May 13 to June 15 of 2017, the Museo Nacional de la Fotografía in Colombia (FOTOMUSEO) announces the opening of its Bogota 2017 National Photographic Call directed at professional and/or amateur photographers, visual artists, audiovisual creators, social communicators and the general public. Participants must submit six photographs that approach the concept of Territories. Three curatorial axes have been established as basis from which to approach the theme of territories: 1. Limits and borders 2. Territoriality 3. Identity and Appropriation Selection Criteria Each photograph will be evaluated according to its technical qualities and the author's aesthetic and conceptual approach, compositional qualities and adherence to the theme established by the call. Application period: from February 20 to March 20, 2017. Organized by FOTOMUSEO, this encounter has been offered for ten years and aims at the visualization and artistic education of Colombians through the offering of free exhibitions in public spaces, bus stops, fences, the TransMilenio bus rapid transit system, museums and galleries. France is the country invited for this edition. This year's event will offer several workshops taught by international artists at various universities, a theoretical and a film series that will include several internationally awarded feature and short films. The event will also include the participation of artists from Asia (China, Kuwait, Bangladesh, Russia, Israel, and Japan), Africa (Egypt, Ethiopia, Somalia, South Africa, and Kenya), Europe (Spain, Germany, Poland, the UK, Portugal, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the Ukraine), North America (the US and Mexico), South America (Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil), and Oceania (Australia and New Zealand).
