FotoFest 2004 announces the Tenth International Biennial Month of Photography and Photo- Related Arts. March 12-April 12, 2004. Houston, Texas

For the celebration of its 20th anniversary, FotoFest 2004 will have Water as central theme. Being an indispensable source of life on Earth, and because it serves as inspiration to many artists, water has stimulated creativity in many senses. The exhibitions will show the theme from various perspectives: as an environmental resource, spiritual force, object of commerce, reflection upon beauty, historical path for people and culture, and as a deposit of life and death. Three of the main events include will take Water as a main element: the exhibitions and installations curated by the commissariat of FotoFest, films and video series with the collaboration of audio-visual media organizations, and the public Forum in coordination with the Rice University. FotoFest, is an event that takes place throughout Houston, with the participation of more than 120 organizations, thus becoming the oldest international event of photographic arts presented in the United States.
