With the goal of promoting a professional encounter and creating working networks in the field of photography and the visual arts, Iberoamérica PHotoEspaña and the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (Spanish International Cooperation Agency for Development) - AECID - invite Latin American photographers, researchers, art critics, and curators to participate in the review of portfolios in Colombia and Nicaragua, an encounter of art critics in Uruguay, a book-publishing seminar in Mexico, and a competition to curate exhibitions online. Trasatlántica, the Latin American Photography and Visual Arts Forum that was held last year in São Paulo, Guatemala City, Mexico City, and Madrid, its first successful edition, returns in 2010 with the firm goal to continue being the meeting point of Latin American photography. This year, the committee will be formed by Tadeu Chiarelli, Director of the Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade de São Paulo (MAC); Gabriel Peluffo-Linari, Director of the Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes Juan Manuel Blanes in Montevideo, and Virginia Pérez-Ratton, founding Director of the Fundación ARS TEOR/éTica in San José, Costa Rica.
The deadline to register for the call is September 1, 2010. The ten finalists selected will be announced on September 8. More information available at:
