The Consejo Ciudadano Pro-Arte Conceptual (Citizen Council for Conceptual Art) calls for all individuals who have objects that they no longer need to deposit these in the ¿Art Containers¿ that can be found at the following museums: In México, at The Tamayo Museum of Contemporary Art, The Carrillo Gil Museum of Contemporary Art, The Arte Alameda Museum, Ex Teresa Arte Actual, The University Museum of Contemporary Art (MUAC), The University Museum of Science and Art (MUCA), El Eco Experimental Museum, The Jumex Collection, and The Museum of Contemporary Art (MACO) in Monterrey; in Spain, at The Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid, the Espai d¿Art Contemporani de Castelló and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao; in the U.S., at The New Museum and the Whitney Museum, both in New York, and in Great Britain, at The Tate Modern in London. The purpose of this call is to collect raw materials such as empty plastic containers and their lids, dead animals, dirty clothes ¿ especially underwear ¿ toys and broken furniture, broken electric appliances such as computers, televisions, radios, etc., and empty cans and boxes, for the creation of artworks. The visual artist and his/her curator will establish connections between art and society as they generate reflections amid the isolated world in which we live. Once the works have been created, the donor whose donated item(s) aided in creating the artwork will receive a certificate of co-authorship. This proposal was generated as a response to the crisis stemming from a shortage of raw materials available for artists, a consequence of recycling practices that have seriously affected their work.
