Fundació de les Arts i els Artistes is calling for Figurativas '13, open to all artists who want to participate.
Works entered into the competition must be figurative in character; topic and technique are open. Technical mastery and originality of themes will be valued. Only one work per artist will be accepted in each category, but artists can participate in both. Work must be original and the exclusive property of their authors.
Interested participants can enter their work in two categories:
Painting: Minimum size is 60 x 60 cm, maximum 300 x 200 cm. Works must be submitted unframed or otherwise supported by a simple strip or batten. Glass-protected works will not be accepted (if necessary, in acrylic).
Sculpture: Minimum size is 50 cm, maximum 200 cm, not counting the base. There are no weight or volume limitations, but artists must alert the Foundation if their work surpasses the 200 kg.
The funds assigned by the Foundation for prizes and acquisitions will be distributed as follows: First Prize in painting, 36,000 Euros; Acquisition Fund in sculpture, 44,000 Euros.
Also, the Foundation reserves an amount to be determined for the acquisition of works, which can remain unused or be expanded as decided by the Foundation.
Registration can be processed at www.foundationdelasartes.org through May 31, 2013. The registration form must be filled out with the artist's complete information, information about the work, and an image.
