Félix Suazo is the New Manager of Sala TAC, Trasnocho Cultural Foundation

After twelve years of acclaimed and successful efforts, Rosa Fernández is stepping down as Manager of Sala TAC, an exhibition space belonging to the Trasnocho Cultural Foundation, and embarking on new professional projects. Since June 1st, the position is held by researcher and curator Félix Suazo, who is also a contributor to ArtNexus. Suazo joins a gallery team that includes Esperanza Villarino and Isabel Castellanos, in charge of the store (with Luis Lares as their advisor); Karla Muchacho, Management Assistant; and, of course, the management committee of Lourdes Blanco, Juan Ignacio Parra, Rafael Romero, and Rita Salvestrini, who participate and advise on the space's activities and programming. Suazo will continue with ongoing projects while focusing his attention on "the processes of contemporary visual culture in matters of media, languages, and mechanisms for public sphere articulation," be it through exhibitions, publications, and different educational activities. Suazo was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1966, and has lived in Venezuela since 1991. He graduated from Havana's Instituto Superior de Arte 1990 and holds a Master's Degree in Museology from Universidad de Valladolid, Spain, as a Carolina Foundation Fellow. Suazo works as a professor, art critic, researcher, and curator; he teaches at Universidad Nacional Experimental de las Artes and at the Centro de Estudios Fotográficos (CIEF). Suazo is also a member of the curatorial team at El Anexo / Arte Contemporáneo and has given conferences at important international art events. He is the author of A diestra y siniestra.
