The Centre d'Art Contemporani in Barcelona is a cultural complex aimed at the production, promotion and exhibition of contemporary artistic projects by creators from the local context as well as international ones. It focuses on the visual arts and above all in the transition space between the emerging art circuits and fully consolidated and renowned artistic trajectories. The center began operations in September of 2012, in the building of the old Fabra i Coats factory in the district of Sant Andreu. It shares the space with the Fábrica de la Creación and uses the common facilities provided by the building (auditorium, social spaces, offices, etc.). In its first phase, the center already occupies an area of 450 m2 (4,843.76 ft2), plus 150 m2 (1,614.59 ft2) located at the entrance of the complex. In its second phase scheduled for 2015, the space is projected to initially expand to 1,800 m2 (19,375.04 ft2) of exhibition space and to eventually reach a maximum of 2,450 m2 (26,371.58 ft2) when completed. The objective of this competition is to select a cultural programming project for the Centre d'Art Contemporani in Barcelona. This programming will have to cover the entire September 2014 to August 2015 period. The call is open to anyone interested in developing a curatorial project, individually or as a group. The project must include a minimum of three exhibitions, a plan of activities, a plan of publications and an educational project. Resources for this competition will be divided into two different categories: 25,000 euros (all taxes included) in professional fees for the winning person or group, and 175,000 euros (all taxes included) for the development of the agenda of activities proposed in the project. This amount covers the fees of the participating artists, as well as all costs associated with the production, exhibition and other expenses that may be generated by the proposed projects. However, they do not reflect the cost of security, cleaning and maintenance of the space, room monitoring and customer service and other expenses associated with running the center, which will be covered by other budget allocations. The ICUB is committed to provide up to 75,000 euros (all taxes included) for the 2014 period, and 100,000 euros (all taxes included) for the 2015 period, to meet the costs of production, assembly and other activities associated with the exhibitions. The artistic evaluation committee, which will evaluate the submitted projects, will consist of: Daniel Giralt-Miracle, David G. Torres, David Armengol, Martí Manen, Miguel Ángel Sánchez, Bartomeu Mar, Conxita Oliver, Oriol Gual and Llucià Homs.
