Exhibition virtual/photography. Quarantine 2020 - Images in Real-Time

How many walls does a digital room have? In the present, when contact with art is primarily not face-to-face, the Virtual Call for Photography Quarantine 2020 - Images in real-time has just been held—proposed by the Centro Cultural Clavijero, which sponsors all the technical poles of the discipline in the professional and amateur categories. The exhibition opened through technology, with participants beyond Michoacán, where it originated, specifically overcoming the documentary face of this time of the pandemic. Conceived by Sandra Ayala, director of the institution, opened this communication providing an activity in these extreme moments of passivity and sacrifice. Emphasizing health indications as well as affective limitations, some authors focused the Quarantine towards closed spaces, while others referred to the urban. It is important to highlight two other aspects of this interaction. The first is the ratification of what is lived, that seems science fiction, and that goes beyond tragicomedy. The second is that the novels who enter the contest - at a time when education is still limited or canceled - had an educational exercise in terms of photography production, time concentration, and quantity of details of work identification to participate in a contest.
Twenty selected, plus four mentions, are exposed individually and in groups on ccclavijero.mx and on social media until June 30 of this year. The works, carried out in 2020 and unreleased, did not ignore public servants or traditions, but, present original moments of Quarantine, where the computer light reflects tiny living spaces, in analog or digital photographs that are both metaphors and references of this phagocytosed reality, and they integrate the winning contributions, which will have successive individual exhibitions through the Centro Cultural Clavijero.
