To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, street artist WK collaborated with New York City firefighters to present a 100-meter long street mural entitled Project-Brave. The central character in the work is a firefighter who, according to a press release from the organizers of the project, is a symbol for all the individuals and heroes that came to the rescue of the victims of the attack. The mural was unveiled to the public on September 11, 2011 and it will be shown until October 11 also of this year. It is located at the corner of 149 Kent Avenue and N5 Street, Brooklyn, New York. WK was born in France in 1969 and he currently lives in New York City. His technique is determined by the monochromatic range that results from twisting his drawings and photographs while he photocopies them in order to attain the final images. He has worked for brands like Nike, BMW, and ADIDAS, among others.
