The Goethe-Institut offers grants to support the traveling (a permanent platform in Bogota and a temporary one in Buenaventura) of participants from other Latin American countries and from other cities in Colombia. The grants are offered to artists who currently work, and have experience in, the visual arts field in any country of Latin America. The deadline to submit the application form is April 11 of 2016. It must be emailed to lorena.teran@bogota.goethe.org along with the applicant's CV, his/her picture and a motivation letter. A panel formed by members of the organizing institutions will select the participants and decide on the grants requested. Participants must be available to participate in the laboratories and in other activities taking place between May 31 and June 11 of 2016. The selection will be announced on April 22 of 2016. The grant includes: 1.Airfare (roundtrip ticket in economy class). Trip to Bogotá from and back to the place of origin. Travel to Bogota-Buenaventura-Bogota. 2.Accommodations to ensure that the grant holder can attend and complete the program in Bogota and Buenaventura. It includes an allowance to partially cover expenses. 3.Costs of admission to all the Experimenta/Sur laboratories. 4.Attendance to all the stage plays and roundtables. Free admission to all scheduled shows and roundtables. 5.Attendance to "Trasnocheos," social events conceived to encourage interaction and the exchange of experiences and information in a relaxed atmosphere. 6.Cultural events during time off to encourage grant holders to seek direct encounters with some of the most culturally active places in the city. Experimenta/Sur is an academic and artistic event aimed at the creation of temporary spaces for reflection, experimentation and exchange among artists and thinkers from Latin America and other places around the world, which is centered on inquiries into the performing arts as a source for thought and creation, as a resistance strategy and a way to appropriate ethics, aesthetics and politics through several forms of representation. This fifth edition of the event will center on the figure of Chronotope: time-space. The event will take place from May 31 to June 11, 2016. The Academia Internacional de Artes Escénicas Experimenta/Sur is an international artistic platform promoted by the Siemens Stiftung Foundation, in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut, the Mapa Teatro artists laboratory, and NC-arte, with the support of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Bogota.
