The square at the Museo Jumex displays the work Breve Historia del Tiempo (Brief History of Time) by the artist Gonzalo Lebrija. This monumental public sculpture aims to defy gravity and perpetuate the feeling of the suspension of time. Lebrija created this work from an action that he documented in photography, in which he threw an American car from the 70s into a lagoon. With the title Entre la Vida y la Muerte (Between Life and Death), the action was filmed with a high-speed film camera to capture the picture where the car touches the water's surface before crashing.
The sculpture will be on display until February 13, 2021.
