Ernesto Neto
The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao launches its annual program with an exhibition of works by Ernesto Neto (Rio de Janeiro, 1964). The show will be held between February 14th and May 18th and is titled Ernesto Neto: el cuerpo que me lleva.
The exhibition will be developed in close collaboration with the artist and is conceived as a high-density exploration of Neto's work in its essence, an experience of olfactory stimuli, color, emotion, and language, all sensorial events.
The show's journey will begin at the museum atrium, where a large work will be installed, and shall continue in the eight galleries of the second floor. Each gallery will offer visitors a distinct experience and will require a different rhythm for contemplation or interaction. The artist seeks for visitors to escape their everyday context and find refuge in art, submerged in a fusion of sculpture and architecture.
