In homage to the 30 years of the glass pyramid at the Louvre, Elias Crespín will present a kinetic work. "L'Onde du Midi" (The Wave of the South) invited by the museum, that will have approximately 10 meters. It will be on view between January 25, 2020, to January 25, 2021. It will be exhibited on the Midi staircase, in the southwest corner of the Cour Carrée.
Built with 128 aluminium tubes suspended by threads and will be activated by motors to create a choreography with sequences of about thirty minutes that will be determined by algorithms. "It offers visitors a contemplative stop on their journey through the museum, turning into a theatre of a silent ballet," the museum mentions in the catalogue.
