The Museo Nacional del Prado launches its first Guide for smartphones

The Museum's technology partner, Samsumg is the sponsor of this new app, available for smartphones and tablets. It provides information on more than 400 works of the Prado including the quality and accuracy of the curators and specialists' comments of each School, becoming the technological response
that, at a decisive moment when freedom of movement is conditioned by the health situation, allows to
continue enjoying art anywhere in the world.
"This application wants to serve both the novice visitor and the expert, bringing the Museum
closer to an increasingly large audience and interested in obtaining clear and accurate information about the works that are preserved in it. Our desire is that this guide will accompany and illustrate those who
have the pleasure of touring the rooms, and that it brings the collection closer to those who cannot do so." emphasizes Miguel Falomir, Director of the National Prado Museum.
Simple and intuitive navigation, it has a general presentation, a history of the Museum and chapters with introductions that divide each collection and that group the works around an artist, a genre, an era, etc.
It is the second official app of the Prado, after "El Tesoro del Delfín", and adds onto the recent release of available works of the Prado Museum in the app "S Pen Academy" resulting from collaboration between the two institutions.
As a novelty, until November 21st and exclusively users of compatible Samsung devices will be able to download the full content of the application for free. The app is available in Spanish and English, and coming soon in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Russian and Korean.
