The Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno presents "Kaleidoscope and Jigsaw Puzzle. Latin America in the Colección MUSAC"

Curated by Cuban art critic and expert Wendy Navarro, the exhibition project titled "Kaleidoscope and Jigsaw Puzzle. Latin America in the Colección MUSAC" consists of a selection of 43 works created by 26 Latin American artists that are part of the collection of the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Castilla y León (MUSAC). The exhibition will remain open to the public until October 9 of 2016. "Kaleidoscope and Jigsaw Puzzle. Latin America in the Colección MUSAC" reflects on the importance of art as means to acquire knowledge. It is articulated based on the concepts of "kaleidoscope" and "jigsaw puzzle" as metaphors for the ability of art to approach and deconstruct a multifaceted reality. Mostly created between 2001 and 2014, the works reveal political, social, economic, cultural, and existential realities and conflicts connected to personal preoccupations and/or associated with specific contexts that include universally relevant issues and pressing matters. The exhibition includes works by Carlos Amorales, Alexander Apóstol, Tania Bruguera, Luis Camnitzer, Raimond Chaves, Dr. Lakra, Sandra Gamarra, Mario García-Torres, Diango Hernández, Juan Fernando Herrán, María Teresa Hincapié, Marcos López, Jorge Macchi, Gilda Mantilla, Ana Mendieta, Vik Muniz, Óscar Muñoz, Diego Opazo, Tatiana Parcero, Nicolás Paris, Jorge Pineda, Caio Reisewitz, Gamaliel Rodríguez, Miguel Ángel Rojas, Martín Sastre, and Andrés Serrano.
