The Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno (CAAM) reopened to the public on June 12, with three new exhibitions whose set-up was interrupted last March by the coronavirus pandemic. The new exhibitions will be open until November 8 during the usual CAAM hours from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with free admission.
The art center of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria reopens its doors with two exhibition projects of international scale that allow the visitor to enjoy for the first time in a Spanish museum the work of two prestigious artists in contemporary art: the Cuban artist Dagoberto Rodríguez, whose exhibition Guerra Interior, curated by Andrea Pacheco, presents a selection of significant works from his newly created work that mark the beginning of a new stage in his artistic career; and the Kenyan-German duo Mwangi Hutter, with the exhibition curated by Simon Njami, Close by Between Us, with a selection of 32 works created in different languages and conceived between 2001 and 2019, by this internationally renowned artistic duo, which combines not only sculpture, painting, video, photography and performance but also the identities formed by the personal experiences and the Kenyan and German roots of its members.
Both exhibitions will coexist with a third group show ‘En Diálogo’ with a selection of works from the CAAM Collection that dialogue with the exhibitions of Rodríguez and Mwangi Hutter.
