The Department of Art of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the Universidad de los Andes is looking to hire full-time professors in the areas of Fine Arts, Electronic Media and Arts of Time. Description: Candidates must be qualified to teach basic or advanced undergraduate courses, CBU [Basic Cycle of the University de los Andes] courses, as well as to counsel on grade projects and seminars related to areas of interest for creation and research. Professors are expected to participate in the activities and development of the Department, the Faculty, and the University and, thus, their initiatives should contribute to the formulation of projects that enrich the university space. The undergraduate Art program at the Universidad de los Andes is divided into three areas: Fine Arts, Electronic Media and Arts of Time, and Cultural Projects. The area of Fine Arts promotes solid, critical and up-to-date knowledge about artistic processes to form students able to identify, work, and develop their individual proposals in relation to their respective contexts. The area of Electronic Media and Arts of Time encourages the development of artistic proposals that rely on audiovisual and electronic media, sound media and live art (performance) based on an intermediate, experimental, and interdisciplinary approach that allows for the exploration of technical, aesthetic, and social dimensions of those mediums in the context of contemporary art and culture. Employment will begin in January of 2017. Requirements: - For the Fine Arts area: Master Fine Arts - For the Electronic Media and Arts of Time area: Mater of Fine Arts or Master in any variant of Arts and Media - Creative and artistic experience - Teaching experience. Qualifications: - Knowledge and desire to participate in the mission and vision of the Universidad de los Andes - Knowledge about the mission and vision in the areas of Fine Arts or Electronic Media and Arts of Time - Ability to promote practical and theoretical courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as at CBU-equivalent general education level - Artistic and teaching experience - Artistic and pedagogic initiative - Interest to build an academic career - Must be an active artist - Ability for constructive team work Guidelines and further information available at:
