LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial is an open platform for the research, production, diffusion, and interpretation of cultural forms emerged from the creative use of new technologies. It is now calling for candidate for the position of Activities Director. The call is open through January 7th, 2014, and is addressed to widely experienced professionals in the art field, with international renown, ready to further develop a unique avant-garde project in concordance with its strategic plan.
Interested candidates must possess a University title (professional degree, Licenciatura, or equivalent; proven knowledge in the fields of contemporary art, technology, and industrial creativity; as well as a notable trajectory and experience in the different areas of contemporary artistic practice: production, research, and diffusion.
As part of his or her responsibilities, the new Director will:
Join the Centro's management team (alongside the Managing Director); develop a programmatic strategy for all of the Centro's areas: production, education, research; lead the development of a theoretical discourse within the frame of LABoral's management project and the conceptual axis derived from it.
Establish programming lines that favor the integration of activities so as to have all the areas (production, education, and research) complement one another.
Be actively involved in the art scene in Asturias and seek formulas for its projection, shaping, integration, and other opportunities in the global context.
Alongside the Managing Director, research opportunities for financing and sponsorship (public and private).
Collaborate with the Managing Director in the creation of budgets that contemplate not only financial viability, but the achievement of a different order of objectives (institutional growth, relevance of the program).
In sum, the new Director will contribute as an integral part of the Management team to the coherence and balance between the program and the resources made available.
